end quote...

mice should be avoided except as an occaisional treat for frogs in general. A number of captive amphbians fed a diet consistying largely of mice develop corneal opacities which essentially leads to blindness. Obesity is difficult to avod on a rodent diet as well.
Feed your frogs insects. If you want to have a pet that eats rodents, get yourself a snake.

As for franny.. nice pics, and a fabulous substrate. I still swear by coconut-husk fiber (eco earth/bedabeast/forest bed) as the ultimate amphibian substrate.......

Good luck

LOL cute little bugger! :)

the frog man,
Might I suggest giving another substrate a try for your hedgehogs? Pine shavings can cause respiratory irritations, change in organ weight, and shortened lifespan in small mammals. Carefresh kicks butt, only problem is it is a bit on the pricey side and gets kicked out fairly easily. Right now I'm trying out Yesterday's News for the pets. It's a pelleted cat litter made from recycled newspaper.
