I found this snake in our front yard (Houston, TX). I couldn't locate any pictures and figured this would be the best place to ask.

Yep- that's an Eastern Hognose and it's doing it's best in the picture to act like a killer. Great pic! They're pretty much all bluff and go through an elaborate display to convince you to leave them alone. These guys flatten out their necks (like a mini cobra), hiss like a tire going flat, bluff strike (mouth closed of course, unless you happen to look like a toad), then if all else fails- they roll on their back mouth open tongue hanging out, make a nasty stink and play dead. Got to love them!

Hey thanks for the quick response. I was definitely amused by it's cobra like neck! I had no clue if it was venomous or not so I kept my distance! Glad to know it's not! It was a good looking snake and his charm worked on me!

sweet hognose. props to you for not killing it like alot of uneducated people would probably do.
