Snake Soaking 247

I have a adult femalt python and she's been in her water bowl for 2 days in a row already. I think she's been in there the whole time. My husbandry is good and I'm just worried. My temps are fine and aren't too hot. I checked for mites and ticks but no sign. Does anyone have a picture of a mite or tick anyways? Is there anything i should be worried about it? Maybe my snake just loves to soak in the water. My snake isn't shedding also because i haven't seen signs of shedding. Any ideas why my snake loves to stay in the water?

Are you SURE your temps are o.k.? Sometimes your thermometer can break or become innaccurate. I'd double check with another one.

You also might have missed the signs of shedding. Or your snake might just be enjoying the water, but I would think something else is going on.

The male and female were together for a short time. hmm could that be why..shes pregnant?. What are the signs of a female being pregnant?

humidity levels? are they perfect?
When is she due for a shed?

I got the snake from a reptile show and Ticks are a sure sign that its an import. =) this sucks but i gotta go to the vet. I hope it doesnt cost too much.

How long ago did u get him and how long did it take for you to clue in that he had ticks? ( i guess the water soaking would be a pretty quick give away).

I was very ignorant when i bought her from the person at the Reptile Show. I didn't check for anything before i bought it. I checked when i got home but found nothing. I realized a couple days later that she was soaking 247 in the water. From reading and researching(most 2 common reasons for soakin is Temp. is too hot or Mites/ticks). I knew the temp wasn't too hot so there has to be ticks and mites. I took a closer look at my bp under a lamp and found the ticks. Remove about 6 so far and im concerned. Yeah, i really need to go to the vet to check for other problems that might be present.

That's too bad man...
Hopefully it's not too pricy. I am getting a new BP, so I will be extra aware before I get it.
