While suffering reptibid, I came across this person selling brb and crb crosses. The young are really, really red! Has any one bred these? Are the young able to breed ? here is a link http://www.reptibid.com/cgi-bin/auction/auction.pl?category=b_snake_boas&item=1099177183 Would the colors dull within age like crb?

How can you tell they are "really red"?? That's the darkest/crappiest photo I have ever seen. It almost looks like its lit with a red bulb!!
I agree with Jeff, as for the cross I personally have never heard of anyone crossing rainbows. The big question in my mind would be WHY? Anyways there is no reason why they wouldn't be able to breed, I have yet to hear of any "mules" being made from crossing any snake species.

Oh they would cross quite easily. They are the SAME species (Epicrates cenchria). Same species, so not really a cross. Thye are ony different on the sub-specific level (cenchria vs maurus).

Would be like crossing different BCI types, Colombians with Centrals etc.
Agreed, crapy pic.
Cheers,

'Carpondros'... Carpet Pythons and Green Tree Pythons (could be same species today I guess, but I still prefer to think of them under the genus chondropython), 'Jungle Corns' Lampropeltis x Elaphe are two examples of species x species crosses... there is a whole world of different subspecies crossed... angolan python x ball python, ball python x blood python, retic x burm, etb x atb, bci x bcc, borneo x blood, bco x bci, etc. The list can go on forever, sadly enough :( I think the ultimate species cross would have to be those damn jurassic milksnakes or whatever they are called... they have milk, king, corn, and whatever else, all rolled in to one.

Not really, Colombians and Centrals are essentially the same snake, just different locales. CRB and BRB are the same species, but different subspecies.
