I am obsessed with these guys. I don't own any, but I'm always reading stuff about them and checking out this forum. I actually don't own any snakes now, but I have had carpet's and ball pythons in the past. Right now i'm breeding Satanic's and cresteds.
Just wondering what an average price would be for a baby. I have seen them in the reptile stores around my area for $900-1000. Have they been marked up quite a bit or is this the going rate? Usually if you get from a private breeder you can save some money. Anyone in southern Ontario breeding these guys?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jamie

those prices aren’t far off, what you have to remember though is most shops are selling you cheaper wc animals, and they have raised the price, from a breeder it will end up costing about the same but they are healthy cb animals.

I wouldn’t not suggest wc they have a horrible reputation.

Give Don Patterson a call I believe he has some for 600 but I'm not positive. Plus his will be well started Captive Bred babies by him.

For a CB baby from a breeder, you're generally looking at $700-1500, depending on the quality/lineage of the animal in question. I don't know if they still have some available, but I believe both Lance Townsend and Corey Woods hatched out some chondros earlier this year -- they're both in Ontario, you might try contacting them. You could try Hiss & Hers Pythons as well, they're also in Ontario. Or, as suggested, Don Patterson definitely has some babies for sale, and he's an awesome guy to deal with :)
From a pet store, what you saw is about what you can expect (if not higher). If you're going to buy from a pet store though, just make sure that the babies are CB... you don't want the hassle of dealing with a wild caught animal.

Hope that helps :)

Thanks for the info. The store by my place acually just specializes in herps, they sell no other animals. So they are pretty reputable.
