I have an opportunity to purchase a 1.1 pair of normals that are ready to breed now for $200. Do you think this is a good price? I want to try my hand at breeding and my male is a year away from breeding age and I have no female. Thanks for the input...

GO FOR IT. The female alone is worth that much *IF* she is breeding size. Have they given you weights/age/history/etc? Some people sell "breeding size" at like 800 grams which of course isn't near enough for the female.
If all checks out and seems in good measure, go pick them up, NOW.

This is a guy I know from the local reptile store. It would be an in person thing and he is going to bring them in first for me to see and weigh. I dont know the history yet but I think he told me they havent been bred together yet. I believe they are both around 3 years. Ill get more details...

So I picked them up today. Watched them get probed as a male and female. Both are at least 3 years old. The male is about 1.7 lbs and the female is close to 3.7 (I need to weigh them again but the female was 1700 grams). This is exciting to get such a deal on a breeding age female at this time of year..

It may not be that good of a deal. If the animals are wild caught they may refuse food and refuse to breed. Florida is a hub for thousands of wild caught ball pythons. If they eat and breed it was a great deal.
Good luck

They are captive bred. I know the guy who had them since they were babies.
