Yay!!! Yesterday I got me a pair (?) of Green Tree Frogs. Those little buggars are just terribly cute! Mork and Mindy i named them. I was reading up on their care and wondered if it's really that easy to care for them? Basically keep them moist, comfortable heat, and feed them. I mean, really, is that it? Seems simple enough. Please, if I've been misinformed enlighten me, or point me in the direction of good reading.

Happy trails!

No need to heat these frogs really. A fluorescent light above the tank is generally enough for them. An incandescent basking light can easily dry out and overheat a frog tank.
It;s all aout the fluroescents. You can purchase an 18 inch flurescent fixtue with teh bulb included at Candaian tire for 8 dollars. They do wonders for plants, and you frog will prefer this lght source to a hot incandescent bulb. Don;t keep them too moist..... around 60-70 percent relative humidty is enough fr them. Always ensure a clean water dish for them to soak in. The best substrate for these animals is eco-earth/bedabeast, or coconut husk fiber (not chips!) Stay away from potting soils as they can get soggy, plus they often have crap n them like vermicultie and perlite.. which is a terrible thing for a frog to eat. That jungle mix stuff is crap also (even though it comes from a petstore), as it also has vermculite in it. Stay awaay from bark substrate fro frogs. They are never terribly good for frogs for a number of reasons.
Feed your frogs crickets, and duyst them with a god product like REp Cal calcium with vitamin d3. You can use Herptivite in conjuncton with the rep-cal calcium with d3.. I use them both in equal proprtions. Bad brands for supplements are anything made by flukers, zoo meds, or mardel. Miner-all is alright, but repcal is better.
That shoudl cover all the bases...... but also make sure you dechloriante your water with a product that gets rid of chlorine AND chloramine. Reptisafe by zoo-med works, and I use it. I have bred 5 speces of frogs on it.
Good luck.
