Hi can anyone tell me some info on black head monitors...I was thinking of getting one.

What is a good price for one?
Know any breeders in Ontario?

Thanks
Mike

black heads are tiny monitors, over here in the states I have seen some for about one g and some for cheaper. Not really sure of the prices in Canada so I can't say.

they are super nice monitors, but pretty shy....mine, don't bite, but they hiss :P
they eat about 75% of meat (lizards in the wild) and some bugs.
but if you are looking for somthing than you wanna handle, I think you must buy a yellow ackie :)
anyway good luck in your reseaches ;)

Jon Kendrik is the only one to have hatched them in Canada I think. Niagra Reptiles is your destination.

The only person to have hatched pure black headed monitors (tristis tristis) in Canada is Brandon of Canadian Cold Blooded. Keep in mind they are very shy but active. So they dart into hiding when they see you. I personally find them very nice looking, but did not enjoy them.

Here's a cool pic I took this summer of a few of our hatchlings. They can be shy, but it depends on the individual monitor. None the less, they are a great monitor that is extremely prolific.
