So my BRB has been soaking in his bowl for 4 days straight. Right before he went in there I noticed he was going into shed. His skin became rough and opaque and his underside turned a tan color. He still looks exactly the same after 4 days of soaking and has not shed yet. Is this normal? Temps are 74-78 ambient with a basking area of 82-85. He definitely doesnt have mites and has been eating fine. Actually today is day 8 since he has eaten. I didnt want to feed him yesterday since I figured it would be too stressful during shed. Thanks all!

Maybe there isnt high enough humidity in the enclosure. Mine usually just soaks after he has eaten but low humidity may be my guess.
Very weird...
The easy answer would be "mites"... but if you say he doesn't have any... hard to say why a snake would stay 4 days in a water bowl other that wanting more humidity, and still...
I rarely see mine in there, usualy right after their meal, but no more than that.
Wait for him to shed and have a real close look at its scales. BRBs do stay "in shed" for a long while... sometimes mine are white for a week or more and they allways end up with perfect shed.
Give him time, but monitor him often.

The humidity is at least 80% (the acurite shows HI). It is not humidity and definitely not mites. I figured it was because of shed.

It turns out that Sasha was in shed. I fed him last night since it had been 10 days and he is underweight. (which he took no problem). Today he shed perfectly!
