Last night it was the regular feeding night at the old zoo, and one of my corns ate 2 rat pinkies and then a mouse pinkie and then after I put her back in her enclousre I was watching her sniffing(?) her side and then she bit it? why would she do that I qucikly picked her up and held her for awhile and then she was fine afterwards - it wasn`t a full on strike but more of a nibble - has anyone seen this before - was it because she smelt the food on herself and decided to see if she could have more?

Should I have fed her more after that?

No, everything is fine. She likely smelled food on herself. It's somewhat common for them to do this, even to MORE extremes! I have had a king try and swallow a portion of his own tail before. :)

Don't worry.

If you need practice stopping snakes from eating themselves, get yourself a Cal-King with an aggressive feeding response & it will only be a matter of time LOL Mark
