Ill seriously ill.

This is one reason why I don't want kids. To have them grow up in an era where there are no choices.

Gene manipulation for the perfect baby is a perversion of the reproductive process.

Brave new world.... here we come.
Big brother is already here.
The rest is just a matter of time unfortunately.

amen to both those posts. People really need to learn to leave well enough alone.

First off don't get mad at me this is just something to think about is all. I totally disagree with messing with genes. That said here I go.

I think it's wrong what they are doing, but do we not as reptile breeders breed for a trait?? Like the carrot tail loepard gecko (just an example off the top of my head). It's selective breeding yes, but one day we may be doing the same. If people could guarantee that all their leopard geckos could be five star 100% perfect carrot tail then would not the big breeders do that?? I don't agree with it at all but to a lesser degree most breeder do it too. We breed special traits because they are in demand. Humans are starting to breed special traits (the perfect child/adult) but by playing with the genes. I'm not saying that what we do is wrong and what they are doing to humans/monkeys is right. I think it's wrong on so meny levels what they are doing. I do agree that people should just leave well enough alone.

"but do we not as reptile breeders breed for a trait?? "

Breeding for a trait is 100% different from munipulating genes. They did not line breed monkeys who like to work and end up with those monkeys, they actually munipulated those genes to cause the monkeys to work for no reward. That's totally different.
But I agree, totally wrong.

I dunno if this is so bad. I seriously doubt that we are going to create an army of mutants with this knowledge to do tasks. If they can develope this knowledge to help treat depression and mental illness then Im for it. Science and technology is a tool. Its up to us what we use it for.
