I just got my first snake.I dont know why she keeps nipping at me.I was wondering if she was getting ready to shed if that would have anything to do with it.

probebly because she was not handled much ..or it could be a food responce ..try using a snake hook or a stick 2 pick her up and put her in ur hand and she should be fine and dont make a sudden movement...just do this daily and she will grow out of it :D...hope i was some help 2 ya !

I just got my first snake a couple of weeks ago. She was also a bit nippy. She is no longer nippy because of daily handling. She occasionly will go after me if I wake her up and she is startled. In that case I just use a stick and scoop her up and have no problems.

Good Luck,

Baby BRB's are born striking at anything that moves. It's their natural survival instincts. However BRB's are probably one of the easiest animals to acclimate to handling. As Liquid-mage mentioned, the use of a hook to remove them from their enclsoure works quite well if you wish to avoid a bite. Just regular, patient, gentle handling should have her calmed down in no time ;)
