I need the help of all the experts! I know of a sick Panther Cham who i assume to have a protruding anus. I say assume bacuse I've never seen this b4 but I'm guessing that when the inside comes out then it's a protruding anus. How can this be fixed?? how can this be prevented in the future?? I have absolutley no expierience with a problem like this but want to desperatley help it's caregiver. I thank all who respond in advance as this little sweetheart deserves it!

So it was you that left a garbled message about a sick chameleon on my answering machine this past weekend!

First off, he needs to see a vet ASAP. Rectal (or whatever it is) prolapses are generally fatal in reptiles. In the meantime, try a bit of Preparation H on the affected area until he can be seen. The Prep H acts as an anti-inflammatory and should take the swelling down in the meantime. If you can't get the Prep H in a hurry, definitely keep the area clean and moist and remove any extra plants/leaves/accessories from the cage so the prolapse doesn't get caught on anything.

Good luck and keep me informed.

Cheers!
