two 10 gallon tanks

i want to make a 20 gallon tank out of two 10 gallon tanks??

Ummm... I think that in the books that I've read it said something about knocking the bottom out of one of the tanks (and make sure to remove any small pieces of glass left over around the rim with tweezers)... and then use aquarium sealant to seal them together?

It was something like that -- sorry I can't be of more help. I'm pretty sure that it was in a couple of the Barron's series of snake books that I've been reading...

I don't know exactly why you would want to do this, but how do you want to put them together. In top of each other? Side by side? its really not an easy task, and I really thing it might be of poor construction too. Removing the frames from glass tanks is dangerous. Just about any aspect of working with glass is fairly dangerous if your not handy with your tools too. I've done a small amout of custom glass tank work and can give you some pointers on how to tear them up and modify them. Tell me what you have and how you want to put them together and I will give you my best course of action. Personally, I would just spend the cash on a 20 gallon tank... They are not that expensive and would most likely be more sturdy then manufacturing your own.

It is very difficult to merge glass cages together properly. Depending on your requirements, you could just cut a hole on each tank and join the two holes with a piece of plastic pipe, sorta like those habitrail units. I would recommend just buying a 20 gallon tank and trading in the two 10 gallons, they are not all that expensive and would save you a lot of hassle.
