Variable pics

Since a few people seemed interested in seeing the other 2 parts of my variable kingsnake trio when I posted the pics of my black female a few weeks ago, I decided it was time to take a few updated pics of them :) Both of these guys were purchased off of Joe earlier this year, a few months after I bought Jette (the black female) from him.

None of the pics are the greatest -- photographing colubrids is so much harder than it is with the boids... lol. They never sit STILL. :p

First, here's the male, Tobin -- if all goes well, he'll be paired up with Jette this coming season :)

And, here's the other female, Faerin :) She's a year younger than the other 2, so she's still got some growing left before she'll be ready to breed -- she's definitely working on it though, she's quite the little pig!

great pics Jen... there looking good, Im really impressed on how well the little female is doing, she's kinda got that greeri look to her, be interesting to see how she looks as an adult, the male was fairly clean as a youngster but dirtied up quick... looks like she will keep it..... I have noticed with variables that the offspring tend to look more like the mother then the father so it will definately be interesting to see how it works out for you... good luck with the black female next year!

Nice thayeri. Don't see too many of that phase looking so clean. Love the male. Looks like a nice mex mex. Very nice. The babies are gonna look great from those two.

They are both very nice - will be great to see more variables out here - wish I could get more - they are such a great species! Love that little female - she is so clean and has such nice dark bands. Best of luck with them this year and thanks for the updated pics. Will be looking forward to seeing photos of breeding and eggs in a few months!
