I have one male collared lizard at home and I am thinking about getting a female.

If we kept them apart, would they still breed if they were only together for a couple hours?

Thanks

since no one has replied, I'll give it a shot. Well, if you keep them apart, which you should do anyways since you should never introduce a new animal that has not gone through a lengthy quarantine period, then why would they be put together?

It's pretty simple. If you want another collared, setup a different enclosure with everything needed and wait at least 6 months before introducing the two, assuming you want to eventually house them together and that they are both of suitable size.

If you're asking if you put two animals in a rubbermaid or something for a couple hours while transporting or something, then no, it's not likely the reptiles will breed. I mean anything is possible, but not likely.

I have to agree with the information already posted.

Since these guys are very predecaous, I don't want to keep them togther long because they "could" eat each other...
