What is BCC and BCI mean???? I dont know much about my snake, but I know I love him, and I want him around for a long time. And if you guys can help me with that. I thank you in advance very much so.
Assuming that is your boa in your avatar I would say he looks like a good old colombian boa(bci). Snakes like to hide(completely normal) and could really care less to be handled. Your snake could probably take down an adult mouse instead of 2 hoppers and I also reccomend feeding him thawed or freshly killed food Items because a live prey item can injure your snake(I know that may sound crazy to someone new to keeping snakes but it does happen.) The differences between bcc(boa constrictor constrictor) and bci(boa constrictor imperator) are bcc are much more expensive, have much more speckling on there belly, lower saddle count, seem to grow alot slower, more of a arrowshaped head, much more of a red tail that doesn't faded with age(that is why bcc are also called true red tails). The bcc group consists of guyana's, suriname's,trinadad, brazillians and peruvian's. the bci group consists of colombian, mexican, clouded, corn island, hog island, ecuador, nicaragua and quite a few more. Hope this helps ya bit and enjoy your boa they are awesome snakes.
