This is kind of cool, I just fed my King Snake, who's about 2.5 years old and RIGHT after she got in her tummy, she started to shed.
I've never seen that before. Is that common?

I am not too sure about that one, with my female ball python I never noticed a sign that she was going to shed and she ate before she shed that night.

No word of a lie, it was about 5 seconds after she was done eating that she started to shed. I could even remove her from the feeding cage that I have.
Interesting.

I LOVE watching my BCC shed. She's almost 9 feet long now, but it's awesome to watch her shed.

Steve, yes I have seen it lots, mostly with baby snakes. Quite often the feeding actions get the snake stretching & if in shed it seems to help loosen the old skin & start the process. I mostly see it with babies eating their first meals. Quite often when you have a clutch kept together until the first sheds, its hard to tell which ones have & haven't & even if they haven't I'll offer them all food at the same time. Its not uncommon to see a baby corn struggling to get the shed past the lump it just got in its belly & I have had to help them do so quite often it seems LOL If you notice sometimes before a snake sheds it will yawn lots trying to stretch its mouth to begin the process. Feeding is nothing but a big stretching exercise & they will quite often shed while feeding or right after. Mark
P.S. I didn't see ya at the Fall TARAS show, what up with that Bro?
P.P.S. a little warning heh heh for those that like to hold the snake while it sheds. I do it too, but quite often as the skin gets just past the vent they have a habit of crapping from all the movement etc. & if you are holding it at this time Yuck LOL
