I just witnessed my snake shedding and I noticed that its skin didnt come off on the last inch of its tail It stopped at a recent "pinching" injury. Is this okay? and if not what should I do?

Just remove it manually. Moisten the area where the old skin is with water and pull it off.

Definitely make sure you remove the old skin. You may need to put the snake into a humid container for a couple hours (with damp paper or terry towel) to loosen the old shed. If you don't remove it, the unshed skin will restrict the underlying tissues and result in loss of the tail tip.

Ok I'll give that a try.

How do I remove it manualy? I dont see any skin hanging off to grab on to, but when I watched it shed the shed stopped at the mark it has from a pinching injury. Currently she is in a humid container with moist paper towels, Im going to attempt to remove it when I get back from school

If you let her soak in the humid chamber for the day, just use one of the paper towels from there to rub her tail from vent to tail tip. The skin will roll off. It is also possible that the skin will come off on its own during the day. If you don't see some skin rolling off the tail after a couple times lightly rubbing it, check through the towels to see if there is a piece of shed skin stuck to the towels.

Good luck with her - usually a couple rubs will take it off - especially if it is within a day or so of when she shed and she has plenty of time in a damp environment to soften it,

yay, no work required the snake must've taken it off durring the day. When i opened the humid chamber there was a big pile of crap and some skin that looked like it came from the tail.

Glad to hear it worked out well!! Now hopefully the tail will heal completely from that pinch and he will be perfect!
