hello again fellow bp owners!!! I post a thread regarding my ball being on water for a few days... Now he moved to the hide box for about 2 days now... he hasnt come out.. is this a normal behavior for a bp? he refused to feed on a live mice.. i can see that his eyes are getting blurred and some lose skin on his head. as some people said that it might shed... well im kinda concern for my bp not to it. hope everything is ok with him. Any comment will do thanks!!!

From what you are describing your BP is getting ready to shed. His eyes will stay cloudy for a few days. After they clear he'll shed a couple days later. Keep his humidity level up ( I keep mine about 75% during shed) and he should shed in one piece. BP's will usually refuse to feed during shed.

Buy a book or two on the captive husbandry of ball pythons. Loose skin sounds like a dehydration problem. Put him in a dish of water for 10-20 mins and put a lid on it. Don't fill it up all the way. He will drink, let him. Buy a book or two on the captive husbandry of ball pythons.

What Mykee said. And for a BP to stay in his hide for 2 days is normal. Mine stays in all day everyday and comes out in the middle of the night.

yep keep that humidity up, one day you will look in and there will be a nice (hoping) shed lying on the ground and a cute looking snake staring up at you :D

WWWWWaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!! i think my bp is not shedding right. last night i woke up in the middle of the night and i saw him on the branch that i bought for him to help him shed, after he crawls from there he went to the water. i saw some paper towel like substance in the water. i think that its his skin??? ill take a picture when i get home tonight!!!

start misting the snake and cage with warm water about every hour. Keep that humidity up or it could all come off in pieces. If the part around the eye caps and head is off start giving half hour baths untill its all off.

Uh, I use a cat/litter pan in the summer for soaking and drinkin and its near the heat sorce. Brings the humidity up to 50% When they go into shed mode then I mist the cage and raise the humidity upwards to 80% when I positive they'll shed the following day.
I wouldn't worry bout misting every hour, we're not talking bout an animal that needs 80-100% humidity here. I mist my animals occordinaly whenever I see the humidity drop which happans more frequently in the winter.
