Well, I'm not in TO but I do ship. I may have a pair of young BCI for sale pretty soon here, not sure. Failing that, next year I should have a litter of babies.

Bartman, I can vividly remember several posts where you have stated you were selling animals and then keeping them and a while back you had a boa up because you could not handle it, then you picked this one up and now your moving on too more. Maybe you should give this one a little time, maybe wait until its 7' long and see how you handle that before you go out buy a bunch and then have them up for sale next month. I am not trying too come off as an a** its just you seem too get caught up in the new thing. Maybe you should stop and think a bit, boas get big, if last month you couldn’t handle or afford the smaller snake you owned how on earth are you going too cope with a bunch of adult boas. from reading your posts it seems like you still live at home maybe you should think about waiting until you've got a place of your own and room for these potentially big snakes before jumping into it. If you get in too deep it only will ruin it for you, and the snakes might end up suffering.

Im not sure if you read any of the posts after, but I said that my dad decided to build me a rack system. It wasnt that I wasnt capable of keeping them, but the rents decided the electric bills were already pushing their limits.
After the rack, its cut the bill into 1/4 of what it was so its back into the collecting :) Sorry for the confusion...but I can easily handle 2 more boa's.
Thanks for the concern though!

will your rack be able too handle adult boas ??
If so I would like too know how you put it together, I can never think of how too conveniently pout one together that would be large enough for my boas, but they are over 7'. I wish you luck if your serious and have though this all out before you go pick them up. But all I’m saying is make sure you’ve thought it all out before you do it. I will hopefully have my first baby boas this year. I don’t normally breed my collection, but I thought I would give it a try this year see how it turns out. But if your looking for some very nice boas, you should try Chris Marshal He has some amazing stuff.

I made a spot for these extra extra large rubbermaids that I found. Im pretty sure its okay for an adult boa..and then I was going to build, when they are bigger, 4 custom enclosures for a pair in each section.. This wouldnt be for a little while, but for now I wanted to get a pair that could grow up together.
I dont have pics as my desktop computer has been broken for a crap load a time and ive been using my laptop for the last month waiting to get it fixed. When I get it back ill be sure to post pics!
What the dimensions are the tubs.
Note: Before dealing with boa please check of the canadian BOI. You'll find a couple of threads on him.

Thanks I was already given a heads up about him.
The dimensions are something liek 4x2 but only like 8 inches high or something like that. Its one of those under bed rubbermaids. Is that sufficient for a female? I took into account for a male as they tend to stay smaller.

Please take this seriously... there is NO RUBBERMAID on earth that can house ANY adult boa! 8 inches of height is nowhere near enough. That would be like giving you a 4' ceiling. They need height, even though they are on the ground most of the time. 18" of height is a MINIMUM. 2' is even better.

18" minimum? What about the 48x24x11.5 cages (421D) on www.boaphileplastics.com ???
Wouldn't that work for a male bci?

This rack of 10 cages now holds all my Hog Island Boas, save for 3 yearlings which are in a 26.4L rack.

Ha ha gotcha buddy! ;)
I agree (sort of). I would say that 5x2x1 is a PERFECT boa cage for all but the largest female. 18 inches in height won't hurt, but in my limited experience, it doesn't help all that much either. But some people like 2 foot high cages. There's certainly nothing wrong with them. Some of them look and work quite nice in fact. Larger cages can be made to looks awesome!

Note that Jeff uses the clear rubbermaids, so he can be sure to check it out when they're getting it on!

Would this measurment be enough for the boa?
5' x 2' x 17.5"
Invictus

Yes, that would be a good measurement.
My boas's enclosure is 4x 2.5 x 2. And i will be building her a new one when she gets bigger. She is a little over 5ft now. They need their space if you a want a healthy, happy animal. I wouldnt even think of putting her in a smaller enclosure than the one i built for her. Those new dimensions are great for your boa. If you don't have enough room for several tanks that size i wouldn't recomend that you get more boas. Its no good to keep more than one snake in an enclosure for many reasons unless of course your are breeding them, but that is only temperary co-habitation

I believe a year or so ago rubbermaid had xmas tree boxes that were great for boas. I belive they were something like 48-60x24-30x18. I remember seeing them on Ksnake. I've had no luck finding them agian though.
