How often do your female rats give birth to a litter of babys?
And what are there averages?
We have one female rat, and she gave birth to 14 pinkies at the end of August, and gave birth to at least 25 pinkies a couple days ago.
I think thats a perrrrty good average so far.

That sounds ABOVE average to me. She's a keeper! :) Mine average about 11 or 12 per litter.

I have a female who had 16 first litter and between 24 & 29 on the next 5 litters. She went about every 3 to 3 1/2 weeks. She was an adult when I got her, so I have no idea how old she is, but after those 6 litters her production dropped. Now she has 8 to 12 in a litter and they're probably about 6 weeks apart.

about 14-20 each litter, and about once every 6 weeks (we let the babies stay with the mothers until after 4 weeks).
If they go below 12 or so, we give them one more try, if still under 12, they go to the white lipped. lol
