anyone know when they generally start calling? and are the calls loud. I thought I heard mind making noises once but it seemed faint (maybe I was just hearing things) ... they are aprx 12 months now.

At that age they are considered sexually mature.

P. terribilis have a fairly loud call. Sexual maturity for this species from my sources points to 18 months rather than a year for sexual maturity. That said, frogs have been known to breed before the accepted general age.

In some darts the males start calling months before they're mature (practising so they have it right when the time comes? :) I had powder blues and azureus males calling by 8 months, but no way were they sexually mature at that age.
Some people do manage to get their male darts to mature by one year, usually it's the result of power feeding (not really a good idea). Like Double J, I've heard they mature around 18 months.
