As of now, I'm currently listening to Disturbed. :D
But bands include(off the top of my head, lol)
White Zombie
Rob Zombie
Disturbed
Areosmith
Creed
Black Sabbeth
Drowning Pool
AC/DC
Iron Maiden
System of a Down
Beatles
Buddy turning me on to Mudvayne and Ben Harper.

Heh, theres alot more but really not enough space on this thread to list an encyclopedia. As ya can see, I'm a "metal head" but my buddies are turning me on to other types of music so I'm not so fixated on the "pounding and banging". Hehehe...which IMHO pumps the blood and relaxes the mind.

Anything metal, mostly of the Norwegian or Swedish kind. :D On a milder note I like the old school heavy metal sounds like Iron Maiden and Megadeth. Can't forget the fathers of metal though, Sabbath and Led Zep. #1 is always Metallica. Anything they play sounds good to me. Even the St. Anger album! :D

Ya want pounding, banging and screeching, try Darkthrone. :D

I havent listened to Led Zep, *lowers head* yet or Megadeth. But I agree the founding bands that has led to the "metal" bands today is Led Zep, Gunz n Roses, Sabbeth and Metallica. I believe the Beatles could be influcened in this somewhere...

I ,like Vanan like the metal.I am in the lucky situation to be able to bring in acts to play in our club.We just had an awsome metal band called Cryptopsy play. They blew the doors off the place. So I get to hear all kinds of great stuff.Go hard or go home.

Cryptopsy played at your place?! Damn!! They rock!

Mykee, ya don't like it, don't reply. :p :D

Dunno about GnR being influential in any way. IMO they suck. The only good thing which ever happenned to them was Slash.

Lol! I'll stand and fight. Although I do admit GnR was a gateway band for me. First ever rock cassette I picked up when I was 13 was the Use your Illusion 1 album. I do prefer Appetite for destruction though and the first few songs of Use your Ill part 2.

i used to be strictly a closed-minded metal/rock/alternavie fan, and didnt listen to anything else. seems like ever since i started learning guitar i gained an appreciation for all kinds of music and these days ill listen to ANYTHING. i love music. the majority of the music i listen to now consists of rap, hip hop and RnB stuff, but i still listen to anything from rock to classical to oldies.

heh, finally off work. I'll look into static-x. Honestly never heard of em but if they're like Disturbed ,sure why not.

Overall looks like there's a wide range of all different type and preferences, which is sweet.
I'ma have to check out some of these bands, lol. Theres quite a few I haven't heard of. Different era?

1 of my buddies played black crows, which i liked sooo theres another band to add to the list, lol.

I listen to everything from classic rock to the Beatles to 80's dance and alternative but my favourite is....

Frank Zappa. One of the best of the modern composers, a real perfectionist regarding the way both he and his musicians played and some of the most complex music and riffs you will hear. Of course his social/ political satire also keeps you entertained.
