My female Borneo's scales feel really ruff and they make noise when I run my fingers along them. I am keeping her in a huge rubbermaid on aspen shavings with a water bowl big enough for her to soak in (although I have never seen her in it or near it) Whenever I take her out I have to dig for her because she is always under the shavings. I would post picsa but she looks normal if your just looking at her and all I have is a cheap webcam. I think she may be shedding by the looks of her face and stuff but it has looked like that for a while now and all my other snakes look like the day they are shedding so I am not sure. I would appreacite any information or suggestions I have only had her for a few weeks and she hasnt shed yet so I may be worrying about nothing but I feel its better to be safe then sorry

Thanx in advance
Nick

Whats this sound u speak of?
My bloods scales are smooth and silky 24/7 even in shed, except when there very close to shed, the ventral area becomes kinda loose.

What area of its body is dry?
Sounds like its probably down its back.....does it look a little gritty, kinda like sandpaper?
This is most likely because u are not keeping the humidity up to par (60%-75%).
Aspen shavings dont help either, ur better off using something like newspaper, paper towel, or carefresh.
With nespaper and paper towel, your much more likely to see her using her water bowl.
If u dont have a digital hygrometer, get one. and spray multiple times daily if needed to keep that humidity up.
Once you know shes in shed, spray the hell out of the enclosure every 12 hours, and it should have no problems shedding.
Keep an eye out for mold if your using a substrate like carefreash.

I'd soak him in warm (90 degrees F) water for 15 minutes every day for a while.
