View Full Version : carpet python not moving
Hey,
It's now spring here and I've turned the temperature up slightly, but for the last week or so my python is not moving. It's gone into it's hiding place and hasn't moved, usually it would come out at night, but it's not even doing that. It's also stopped eating for the last few weeks... Could be nothing, but I thought I just better make sure. Thanks.
Hows about taking it out of its hide and examining it? :D
Yep, I actually have done that. Nothing appears to be wrong with it, no physical change anyway. But as soon as I put it back, it went straight back into hiding.

My irian done exactly the same. Did not see him for a few weeks and he would not eat. Then 2 nights ago he shed and he has gone back to being his active self again now. Maybe that is whats up with yours too??
Nope, he only shed about a month ago, don't think he's due for another one already... However I checked over him again last night and some of his scales seem to be damaged.. I've never noticed this before, any idea of what could be wrong? I have no idea how it could have happened, maybe I should get it checked out soon. Better safe then sorry I guess.
Thanks for the sugestions guys.

To much humidity can cause bacterial or fungal infections. This seems to be very common in IJ's. What is your humidity and temps?
If there is nothing wrong with him, particularly nothing with his respiratory system, winter was a little cooler here in Oz. All our snakes hunkered down, no/little activity but now that it is warming up everyone is getting interested in food again. Well those that aren't gravid anyhow.
I noticed you posted in August so hopefully you animal is up and getting more active. Did you go to the wild animal expo down your way in September h0nk?
