A suggestion...

Up the allowed avatar image dimensions to something around 140 pixels wide. 100 is pretty small, and makes no sense considering how wide the table is for avatars already. You could probably have 150 pixel wide avatars and it still wouldn't start to stretch the forum proportions one bit. I just think 100px wide is pretty tiny, and I got a sweet 120px wide avatar I wanna use. It'd look ugly if I shrunk it.

Just a thought.

Oh, and do you clear out images from the gallery regularily? I'd like to store my signature and avatar in there, but will go over to photobucket if it'll get deleted after 6 months or something.

HTML sigs aren't allowed and wont work.. You can upload your avatar onto ssnakess without storing it in your gallery.. Your gallery belongs to you, we don't delete anything out of there, you control what's in there and what stays and goes... That said, certain images aren't permitted, this is after all, a family site.

As far as making the avatars bigger, i see no need for that.. But maybe an Admin will look into it and make the change... I doubt it though, it's been like this for 3 years..

I didn't really ask about sigs and html, having owned a few forums I assumed it'd be BB ;)

I didn't know ssnakess allowed file uploads, thats pretty sweet, I'll have to check that feature out.

I figured I'd check about pics. I know a lotta galleries have a pruning feature, like how on forums topics get auto-deleted after a specified amount of time.

The avatar thing isn't too huge of a problem, but it'd be nice to have larger avatars. I figured maybe it was worth a shot, it wouldn't cause any forum distortions to happen if upped about 50%, and I doubt larger avatars would cause much more of page loading time.

I think that the avatars are great the way they are... I've been to some forums where the dang avatars take all the attention away from the forum and what people have to say!
