I know that if breeding a anery and a hypo you should produce some ghost. My question is, would all of the young be ghost or just a percentage will be, do I need to breed the young to the parents or anything? Would it matter what color the anery-a is?
What would anery and amel produce, anery het amel/amel het anery??? And a hypo and amel pair,50/50 ? I don't think I can ever get this...

Ok, keep in mind, I am not all that familiar with Corn morphs, but if it is like Milks(Ghost=Homo Anery & Homo Hypo), I can give it a shot:
If the two are just anery and just hypo, none of the babies will be ghosts. In fact they will all be normal looking, but will be double het ghosts. Breeding this first generation of double hets back to each other would produce some ghosts(1 in 16 I think, I didn't jot it down on a punnett), and Anerys(3 in 16) and Hypos(3 in 16). The rest would be a mix of normals het for anery, hypo, or just plain ol' normals.
If you have an Anery het hypo, or a Hypo het Anery, this will throw things off a bit in your breeding, but I believe there is 2 or 3 forms of Hypomelanism in corns and they aren't all compatable...
A corn person would clear that up a bit better for you though...
Edit: I may as well add, that if you did have a Homo/Het pair, you would have a shot at Ghosts(1 in 4) in the first breeding, assuming the hypo genes in that pair were compatable...
The other possible outcomes for that pairing would be: 1 in 4 Hypo het Anery, 1 in 4 would be Anery het Hypo, and the last 1 in 4 would be DH Ghosts.
Also, an Anery het Amel x Amel het Anery pairing would produce zero ghosts, but would produce some snows for ya... ;)

ohhh I think I'm slowly getting this. Just not the last part about the snows : 0 . If the parents are the same morph that means the young would be the same morph too right(im talking about ghosts, anerys, etc all of the commom morphs)? is there a web site for this stuff? I remember one for leopard geckos that was really helpful...
Yes, if both parents are homozygous for the same trait(anything) the offspring will all be homozygous as well. That goes for anerys, amels, hypos, ghosts(hypo x anery), snows(amel x anery).
There are a TON of other corn morphs that are more complicated out there that I can't even wrap my head around. I just stick to the basic stuff and the brain hurts less... ;)
Try the Serpwidget (http://serpwidgets.com/) website. Don't know how up to date it is(there always seems to be new corn morphs popping out), but it's got basic genetics stuff and morph stuff in there to look at...

Download "Mick's Cornsnake Progeny Predictor".
I think there is a link for it on Serpentwidgets.com. It's a small download and it's free. It allows you to plug in homo and het traits for each parent and gives you the probable outcome, very handy little programme.
