The weather in NJ is starting to get cold and i need some heating advice for the winter. I have a small dumeril (about 3 feet) and use an undertank heating pad on one side of the tank. The hot area of the tank gets in the upper 90's-low 100's. However, with the colod weather now the side that the pad is not on is dropping to like 60 at night. She spends most of her time now on the hot side. I was thinking about getting one of the walmart style muscle heating pads...if i get one of those will i be able to raise the temps on the cool side but not make them too hot.
Please help, I am worried about her...

I only use a heat pad on the warm side of tanks. You can keep the temp on the other side with a heat lamp or ceramic heater. Under tank heating isn't necessary as long as the temp in the tank is kept high enough.
