Hey Just a quick question, I bought a crestie last weekend, and when I got him home I misted him and he drank lots so I assumed he was a little dehydrated. He ate 4 crickets the first night I got him, then the next night fruit mix ect. He eats like a champ but he lays on the bottom all day. He never climbs up the side to hide behind the hanging plants( I have seen him climb the side, no problems their, ruling out retained shed) He just hides under the leaves closer to the bottom. He is a juvy, probably 4-6 months, His tail was dropped before I got him, and its healed right up. My husbandry practises are good (I have 7 other cresties Im not super noob). Ive been keeping cresties for about 2 1/2 years now, and I have never seen one act like this so I am a little worried. Any Idea of whats wrong? or is this all that abnormal? thx in advance.

most of mine sleep near the bottom of their tanks.

I would assume that he finds the hiding spots on the ground more comfortable/safer than those that are up top.

I agree with CDN-Cresties and Adam. A couple of mine sit in the same spot all day on the ground all curled up. My other ones sit in the same spot all day in plants hiding between leaves.

Yup it's normal. One of mine curls up like a dog in ther middle of their cage and sleeps there for some unknown reason. I wouldn't worry about it.

thats weird, mine usually can be found hanging off the glass.. now and thenthey wil actually go onthe logs and bamboo to relax, but mostly they are on the glass... funny huh...

Yea, in a way....depends on the personality of the crestie, and where the crestie thinks is a better hiding spot. None of mine ever hang out on the glass tho for the day.

I never see mine out untill around midnight so I'd just stay up to see if you spot him climbing around early in the morning/late at night whichever otherwise he can be found in his hide or in his humid hide for the rest of the day
