easiest for me is double sided tape or putting it under the substrade a bit, you can tape over it or anything that comes to mind. Dependin on the look of your probe, using take may throw off the temps. Mine came with d-sided tape on the bottom and works great for me

Be careful with tape, but under the substrate is a good idea. Mine had a little sticky side I used under the hot hide, also.

NO TAPE!!!
Use a little blob of Hot glue... go to the dollar store and pick up a mini hobby hot glue gun for a buck... a great little herp tool
Silicone can also be used but you'll need to hold it in one place until it dries, and take the the snake out for a day or more till it cures.
Hot glue is easier and dries in seconds with no smell.

Om my god, DON'T USE TAPE. DO a search for how bad tape can make things.

Tape is bad, tape is bad, tape is bad.

If I'm attaching the probe to plastic (ala Rubbermaid), then I use hot glue like Unkie Roy. If its glass or painted wood, then I either use a staple gun or aquarium-safe silicon. Not as oderless, but it will cure within a few days. I wouldn't put the snake back in the enclosure within 48 hours, but then again, I have my cages set up 4-10 days in advance before I get a new animal.

Did I mention that tape was bad?

lol thanks for the replies guys, i won't go the tape route don't worry Jeff :)

Does having the probe glued to the bottom of the rubbermaid affect cleaning in anyway?..i mean if water or bleach gets on the probe will it be damaged?

I don't glue the probe, this way I can get a faster reading as the temperature sensor isn't insulated by any of the glue. I just glue the cord just behind the probe end. Just a little bit will hold it in place. ANd if you run it along the floor, then the snake won't try and climb on it or anything like that and rip it out of the glued spot.

The probe ends are water proof. I use them UNDER water in my incubator. And if you do end up gluing the probe end, that will make it even MORE water proof, LOL!
