Just out of curiosity does anyone keep Crotaphytus collaris, aka collared lizard, aka mountain boomers? Just read an great article in the new missouri conservation magazine someone left laying around at work. Not the first article ive read on these beautiful reptiles. It motivated me to do some online research and it seems that these guys are native to quite a few states Kansas (my home) being one of them. There absolutely stunningly beautiful creatures and I was suprised to see only one in the photo gallery. I would think that there would be more interest in such a beautiful and interesting native reptile. It would be my first choice if I was to decide to keep lizzards. A beardie being my second choice. Someday but not in the near future. Is there some reason that you guys know of that they have not gained popularity? Care sheets didnt show too much dificulty in maintaining them. Maby less than others due to low humidity requirements I would think. Anybody have any more insight to these guys?
