ok, I'll explain the whole story here.
I got a new corn snake, but my aquarium wasn't coming in till this week.... Real pain in the ***. So I put it in something temporary.
Just so happened when I went to turn the heat lamp off in the middle of the night, it happened to be out of the, and heading under my bed when I saw it. I have a really big bed and it has to be taken apart to move...
So I take the bed apart and try to find the snake, to my dissapointment, there was a small hole in the wall where there used to be a cable. Guess where the snake is. This is a brand new baby snake so it is terrified of me. And I'm a college student renting the house so I don't want to rip the wall apart.
As for right now I put the heat lamp just over the hole, hoping it will come for some warmth and I'll see it out. Any better ideas?
And yes... I know I'm an idiot.

That is a good idea, but I wouldnt put it too close to the hole so you have a chance of catching him if he does come out. Lets hope the hole doesn't lead anywhere. Other things you can do are put a little bit of flour on the floor under the bed outside of the hole, and if he comes out you will know as he will leave a little "snake trail" in it. Couldnt hurt to try putting a f/t pinky mouse out where the heat source is, or even a live one if it cant walk yet. Food is often the best lure.
Good luck- hope you are able to get him back-

alright, I'm trying a couple pinkies under the heat light, and his hide rock. Hopefully this will work... Any other suggestions?

Cross your fingers, and don't give up. Snakes that escape can turn up a lot later than you expected. Let us know if you are able to retrieve him :) Im hoping the best for you.

Ok, I know how you feel. A couple weeks ago, I lost one of mine. I looked everywhere for the little bugger and I can't find her anywhere. I tried the pinkie thing and it didnt work for me. I kinda miss her. She was a really, really nice looking snow.
Anyways, best of luck finding her....I hope you do.

well if your really care about the snake, rip the drywall off.. Drywall is DIRT cheap and not very hard to finish. chances are you could cut a square 12" by 12" hole and hire someone to patch it for you for about 50 bucks. depends how bad you want your snake i geuss

yea, but the problem with that is I don't even know if it will still be there or if it got through somewhere else. It's a baby so it can get in some pretty tight places (reason I lost it). Anyways, I tried the pinkie thing.... but as soon as they die they really smell bad.... and who knows how long that could take... so I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed. I also have a couple female roommates who don't know it's missing (and aren't going to find out cause they'll flip), so hopefully it turns up before they find out.
yeah - I wouldn`t recommend ripping up the wall either that was a few days ago that it got in there - you probably won`t find it that way - my friend left a tank of mine open - i found the snake in my basement which is realatively far from where is escaped- it was trying to get into my mouse cage.
This was four months after it was lost - you had better tell your room mate because if they find it and don`t know you had a snake- they`ll prolly kill it

All my roommates know I got a snake... and the guys know I lost it. I'm just not telling the girls... who I'm sure won't kill it if they find it, but I really don't wanna hear them flip out about it.
Well hopefully it doesn't take 4 months to find it. I tried using pinkies as bate but once they die they smell horrible... and I really don't care for smelling like dead mice for four months.
