Hey everyone, I'm trying too find out if anybody in Fredericton has there own mouse or rat colonies on the go (and I know there aren't many of use). This might be better off in the wanted ad’s and it can be moved if the mods would like. But I was just short a few and was hoping too find somebody with a colony so I can avoid the pet stores.

Thanks,
Devon

The only way to save money on feeders in NB is to A breed them your self or find someone to go in on an order with from rodentpro. I've gone in on three with people in fredericton and Moncton. Next time we put one together do you want us to let you know? Or if you are going to put one together let me know because I could use 100 small rats.
Cheers,
Trevor

Hey. yes let me know next time your all going in on a shipment. Works out better for everyone. I will probably need a big shipment in a little over a month, as right now I need something for my new burm, the smallest thing I have is small rats, I thought I had a small supply of small mice or rat pinkies but I seem too not have anything smaller then small rats. At the rate she will grow its not worth setting up a colony she'll out grow them before they get going . lol. I guess I’ll have too suffered through a while of expensive feeders.

Yup, it's hard to keep more than one snake in NB unless you breed your own rats or go with mail order. Imagine what it was like for Chris Marshell. Myself I have 86 snakes here right now. If I didn't breed my own rodents it would be impossible to afford to feed them at pet shop prices. But like I said now that we have a good source of mail order food were ok. That is still expensive enough though. My last order cost me $440 and I still need to breed my own too.lol

I know... had a real problem with a large Tegu when it deciding that the mouse rack was a super large buffet after it got out one night. He made a real mess. I had to destroy all the loose ones (froze them for the tegus). I could not take a chance on some getting 'contaminated' by the tegu.

I also lost 30 rats and 25 mice when the watering system flooded a bunch of bins. A loose rat from the tegu incedent chewed 6 watering pipes and flooded a bunch of bins. What a mess! Those went down the toilet. I'm getting another 30 bins of mice going.

Oh well, next year I'll be over stocked...

No such thing in mu case these days.lol I just can't find the time to keep up with all the work in there these days.
A watering system would be a great help. We should talk about that Alain, maybe you can help me get one going.

Trevor

Watering systems are easy but I learned a few things the hard way. Plain rubber hoses are stupid and bins without drain holes will only kill rodents. There is only one company that makes a decent drinking valve.
