After mating/courtship is over, how long is the waiting period until she lays her eggs?

What should incubation be set for and how long before I can expect the eggs to hatch?

Last, but not least, should I use vermiculite for incubation?

Thanking you in advance for your much appreciated assistance and any other helpful comments or suggestions.

Typically, a if conditions are adequate the female should lay around two weeks after ovulation. Any longer could suggest nesting problems.

Eggs can be incubated at 86°F. I'm not sure which species you are specifically seeking info for, but for Red or Yellow Acanthurus I've had eggs hatch between 92 - 118 days. I prefer Perilite for Monitor egg incubation and have no experience with anything else, but I have seen others have success with vermiculite and other substrates.

Best wishes,
