Hi all. I got my first ball python a few weeks agon now. Only a young one, born in may this year. Its skin feels kind of loose and saggy, when compared to my IJCP or my Rat snake. Is this normal for a ball or does he need feeding up a bit??? Please help as I am a little worried. Hopefully for nothing but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Oh, he is eating one rat pup every 5 days at the moment.
Cheers
Adam
Usually loose skin is a sign of dehydration or under feeding... make sure he has lots of water and feed him every week... if he isn't putting on any weight then you will need to get a fecal test done at a vet because it may be full of parasites...anyways good luck and I hope it all works out for you!

Well he is from a reptile store near me. The guy there breeds them himself. Ill try feeding him up a bit more for a little while, and if that dont help then I will take him back to the store and see what he suggests I do with him. Does a single rat pup every 5 days sound about right for a 4-5 month old ball??
Cheers

that sounds pretty good, coming from a pet store though it wouldnt hurt to get the fecal done anyways... good luck bud...
