Hey hey! I'm planning on breeding my little 4 years old girl this year and i was wondering if any of you guys have some tips for me on how and when do i start to cycle her... I cooled her last winter, she ate during all the summer ( she stopped eating for the last 2-3 weeks but she's on again... ). What do i have to do???

Phil,

Starting Oct. 1 allow for a night drop in temps. I like my night temps to reach 72 F and day to be around 82 F. Always allow for a hot spot of around 90 F during the day and 80 F during the night.

Around the 3rd week of October you can start introducing the male. Give him about 4 -5 days off between breedings. Each female only needs one breeding to produce viable clutches, but I prefer 3 - 4.

I would keep breeding until the end of April and raise my temps back to normal the end of March.

Keep your humidity fairly high around the 60 - 65% mark.

Hope this helps.

Good luck!

Mark

Thanks, what about the feeding?

I keep feeding as long as they want to eat. It should be their decision, not yours. I feed smaller meals though.

how long do you leave the male in with the female? and its better to put the male inot the female's enclosure right not vise-versa right? im planning to breed in the future too, just gathering info...
Thanks

I always put the male with the female. I leave him in for 3 days max or until after he has successfully copulated.

*bow chicka wow wow*

LOL!

Buy the ball python breeding video (or DVD), it will answer most if not all of your questions...... I wouldn't get all my advice on how to breed from this forum, although Markus is the best to get info from, but I don't think he has hours to write it all out on here! ;)
