yes, thats what i'll call my disease...

hi, i'm a herpoholic, i know there are many other herpoholics on ssnakess, but does any one else have my problem?

my boyfriend says i have too many pets, i totaly agree, but thats cause right now i have some pets i dont want that i'm going to sell (there just fish, not herps) but i dont think i will EVER have too many reptiles, especialy snakes, there will always be at least one kind of snake that i can't help but drool at when i see one.

every thing i have is listed below as my signature, not too many, especialy compared to breeders, some people i know have hundreds of herps! i never want to have that many, but man oh man do i want more.

any time i even joke around to my boyfriend about wanting another snake or whatever he instantly gets mad and complains about how hes gonna live in a zoo. i dont know how to tell him that i dont want that many but i do want more. perhaps i should just ignore my want for more pets and spoil the ones i have with the best herp supplies and love.

Mine does too, I hear your pain girlfriend! LOL I have 8 leopard geckos, one burm (he's almost 14 feet), a 3 toed boxie, an african plated lizard, and an RES (she stays with my mom... she couldn't part with her when I moved out).

Just show your boyfriend the door, or telling him to stop B****ing like a @!&% woman and get over it. That shuts mine up everytime! LOL =)

Post some pix!

well i love him equally as much as my animals, definetly love him more than some of them. and if i had to chose to get rid of my animals or get rid of him......i think i'd be depressed for a very long time becuase i'd have no more pets.

hes a very understanding person but he knows how i'm really good at buying pet after pet after pet (thats how i was a long time ago) and maybe he thinks i'll be doing that again.

Yep, I do anything for my herps. I have 1 planted fish aquarium, 1 poison dart frog setup, 1 leopard gecko that im about to buy, 14 snakes, and 1 salamander.

Just walked 5 miles to petsmart and spent my last $25 on leopard gecko supplies and a tub from target for my hognose. I wonder sometimes if there is something wrong in my head and why I am addicted to my herps lol its actually kinda scary!!!

And people say crack is addicting :o

Alright, that's weigh out some stuff and see whos taking more from you.

Snakes (pets) - are confinded to there enclosure, you have to feed them once a day to once a week, clean up there poop and spilt water, you only have to handle them once a day or so (if that), you can go on holidays and not have to worry about, they're gorgeous, amazing to look at, fun to show off, great to lug around but sometimes grouchy

Men- take up your entire living space (farting and belching as they go wherever they please), hog the bed, need three or more well cooked meals a day, have to be picked up after, need there laundry, dishes and so on done, need constant attention (sometimes supervsion), IF you can go on a holiday with out them you come home to them in front of the tv, dishes everywhere and there eyes dialated from lack of sunlight, they look good and you can how them off (IF they've showered), Fun to play with but often moody.

Think about it LOL
Alecia- waiting for the hate male... I mean mail

Alecia: If you know a woman who's willing to give me all her living space, be tolerant of my belching and farting, willing to let me hog the bed, will provide 3 well cooked meals a day, pick up after me, do my laundry and dishes, and give me constant attention, please let me know. I'm dieing to meet her. LMAO

My husband is the same way...he complains about the herps I buy but yet won't blink when he spends countless $$$$ on his website. Go freakin' figure :p

This is why I found and married a man that loves snakes as much as I do. Next time your b/f complains tell him there are those with much larger collections than you have, LOL... so he shouldn't feel so bad. hehehe

Mike's a cat person if anything (despite being allergic to them), but he's very tolerant of my menagerie. He always says my room is like a grocery store, and bedrooms weren't meant to have aisles  I love my animals, but I do admit I wish I had some personal space. I'm just lucky to have found someone that doesn't mind sleeping and eating in a very small space surrounded by many, many animals :p

i'm lucky in that way. it was my wife who started us down this path of madness. she fell in love with a uromastyx (who has passed since :( ) and less than 6 months later we have 6 lizards and 2 snakes... and always drooling over more! she scolded me before the last show we went to saying 'WE'RE NOT BUYING ANYTHING'. that lasted until she got her hands on her albino sonoran gopher... and then the 'cute little' leopard. the only bad thing is that we are really bad for enabling each other.
