my female BCI is about 1 year and 3 months old now. she is eating 6-7 inch rats(not including tail) with ease, she is just over 3.5 feet, is this normal or is she unuasualy large/small for her age? just wondering as this is my oldest boa, so i havnt come across this yet.
thanks for any replies,
Nick

It's hard for us to gether any picture from it, since they can be different weights, and they stretch out more when f/t vs. freshly killed I find. Regardless, there isn't really anything 'unusual' about it, since most boas will take insufficiently small meals or substantially large meals.

My female bci born end of July last year is around the same age and about 4 + feet and eats two med rats at each meal.. Just depends on the snake!

my female hog island BCI is about the same age and at least a foot longer. To many variables to really comment on size on a boa that age. I would guess that she's on the smaller side of normal.

Oh crap....lol... pardon my brain fart :p I thought you were asking if the RAT was normal sized  She's not unusually large or small for her age, 3.5' is about average at their first year mark, so she sounds to be on track ;)

Yup, sounds normal to me as well.

Yeah, it really depends on the snake itself and also the room and housing you provide them... My little male is about 1 year and 4-5 months old and he's 4.5 feet long... I'm feeding every two weeks a mature rat...
