If you see a classified ad on this site that is offering up animals illegal to the state where the seller is located, what should you do? I wasn't entirely sure where to put this, so I thought the general discussion forum would be best.

I would let them know, then they might take it off to prevent any incidents from happening. Or let a moderator know and they should be able to make the best decision for the case. Great question and perfect forum! and welcome to the site!

Thank you. I mainly ask because the snakes advertised are venomous, which are completely illegal to keep in GA, not to mention indigenous, which is also illegal. There's been so much bad press on snake keepers lately - I'd like to avoid any more.

If we took down every thread involving animals that were illegal to certain areas, we'd have to bring on 12 new mod's..

I suggest just contacting the seller and letting them know.. They'll make the right decision from there..

Yup, like Matt said, as well as is stated in the Classified rules, sSnakesS is not responsible for anything bought or sold in the classifieds.

Basically, if you really felt something needed to be done, you could try talking to the person about it. Asides from that, it's pretty much at their own risk if they want to advertise animals in that manner. You also never know, some people may have permits/exemptions to keep animals that are otherwise prohibited.
