generally, roughly speaking how big should a 3-4 year old savannah monitor be? my guy is really plump and sturdy, but he's not exceptionally long, maybe 2 and a half feet or so, maybe 3, anyways just curious, thanks

Generally speaking, any monitor under adequate captive husbandry should be able to attain it's full adult size within 1.5 years.

If indeed your sav is a male, he could/should be 4' plus.

Often, captive monitors are stunted in growth due to extremely poor husbandry early on in thier life. With Sav's, they are usually taken out of the wild at very young ages, and would have had to undergo many hardships and much stress before entering the country. This gives them a rough start, and with the poor Monitor info out there and the abundance of Sav's many are stunted and may never attain the adult size potential of the species.
