I had (emphasis on had) two sand boas. One male, 1 female, both approx 1 yr old yet the male was somewhat bigger than the female(maybe they were sexed wrong). I am positive their container was completely closed. Yet, the female is missing. Not a trace of her. No evidence she is in the house anywhere either. I hadnt checked on them for a week, so I couldn't say if the male was bigger or not after she went missing. Are they known for cannabalism?

Sounds like you have an escape artist :)

If the snakes were similar in size.. even if the male was "somewhat larger" and he ate the female, I think you would be able to tell... maybe someone will correct me if Im wrong...

if they were similar in size, he would have regurged her. sand boas in particular do not eat such huge prey.

I didn't think they would be able to eat eachother, but I just can't figure out how she would have escaped. But, like I said, I hadnt checked on them for a week or so, so if he had eaten her shortly after I checked on them, if thats possible even, she woulda been digested by then.

Nope, I doubt it. Like someone else said if they were close to the same size, one has probably escaped. Now do you have siblings or room mates. Maybe someone else was messing with your cage.
Snakes are escaped artists, and you haven't described your cage. I hope its not an aquarium with a poor lid. Sand boas will go right up the silicone an around the lid until they find a crack.
I once had one escape and found it all the way up the inside of a door jamb. It stopped when it hit the ceiling joist or it would have been in the attic. Yes, sand boas will climb up, sounds weird but it could be anywhere by now. I'd start with any cracks around the baseboard, and in the closet under stuff.
good luck

Nobody around that woulda let her out. I have a rubbermaid snap top with small holes drilled in for air(3/16). My guess is escape artist.....somehow. I have searched high and low, no luck, but, thanks for your info on the cannabalism, at least hopefully she is somewhere safe in the house, and will show up eventually.
