I don't have one but I think the Brazilian Boas are exquisite.

I have an okeetee young male corn who's wonderful.

Ball Pythons are also lovely.

My tastes vary from those that I've kept and those I haven't kept...

From those I've kept I'd say western hognosed snakes and burmese pythons;

and ones I haven't kept, but think are wonderful, are brazilian boas, as Dawnell mentioned, (they have fabulous colours) and eyelash vipers. I am also very, very in love with Gaboons. Beautiful, stocky, different-looking snakes. I'd love to own one someday...

As for why... hognosed snakes are just plain cute... they are also personable and nice handle. They can be difficult feeders, though...

Burmese pythons, from my experience, are extremely docile, handlable, and hardy snakes. They are a lot of fun to have as pets, but it also takes a lot of work to care for, and maintain them. I find mine is quite friendly and curious, which makes having him that much more enjoyable. They aren't for everyone, though...

Forgot to say that i like boelens, anacondas and retics. Also gaboons and cobras though i don't keep those.
Retics are number one, because they are quite a challenge to raise, but amazing when full grown.

Dawnell.... He now resides in a large walk-in closet that I've set up for him temporarily. (I'm having a cage built, but it's taking forever!!). He loves to hang out on the top shelves, and there's plenty of room for him to stretch out and check stuff out. He has a basking light in the top over one shelf, and a heat mat on the bottom, under one of those big dog beds (like they sell at petstores and stuff). I would like to put up one of those automatic misting systems in there sometime, but for now, it's all manual! =D

I like pretty much anything native, especially fox snakes (though they're illegal). I love the western ssp's of sirtalis, especially the Oregon red-spotted garter... from books I really like narrow-headed gartes though I've never seen one. Salt Marsh Snakes are really cool as well.

My #1 aspirational snake has to be the mangrove, though the thought of a bite bothers me a bit.

Right now I have a mud snake and they are one of the most interesting snakes around... I'll just have to wait and see if it becomes my favorite.

hehe, good point Daver676, but i had some fault myself. I threw in at least 3 or 4 species. I guess it's hard to stick to only one...

I would have to say my favorite snakes are the Anacondas both greens and yellows. We have worked with them for years and Can't say why but they just turn my crank. LOL

My favorite is probably a Retic. I've never owned one and I doubt I ever will but their pattern and colors are amazing.

For venemous I would say waglers, eyelash and gaboons are all impressive looking.
