View Full Version : malayan pits
Anyone have any experiences getting them feeding. I figured I'd try tease feeding scented pinky parts to start, then maybe offer small frogs if they won't take. Has anyone ever tried rosy minnows with these guys. Any experiences would be appreciated.
Calloselasma rhodostoma sometimes very difficult to get them start feeding especially when they are babies. Usually PP works pretty good for them, if they're not eating, scent them with frogs can help too; but surprisingly some do take minnow or even crickets.
As for baby pit vipers, they need a very quite & stress free environment to get start feeding, like in the night with a red light on and lots of teasing, they should eat eventually. I've try more than 40min to get one to chow down a PP. Lots of patience usually can give you a very good result. But if they off feeding too long, you may consider assisted feeding, normally only a few need to do so.....good luck!
