People should really watch or re-watch Bowling For Columbine. Holy smokes. I forgot what a frickin' great movie/documentary that was. A must see or re-see for sure!

It is Michael Moore though, so you aren't getting the whole story, guaranteed. Plus, there are some things in that one that are confirmed wrong, or which he embellished on to fit his political perspective. He isn't a real documentarian. No flames if you disagree with me, please, as this can step close to the political affiliation/beliefs category, which can be quite virulent on a message board.
EDIT:
Not that it is COMPLETELY innacurate, he makes some good points and highlights some important issues. Just check your facts first.
How weird, I just rented it this weekend! How ironic is that? This weekend was the first time I'd ever seen the film and I thought it was excellent... Trevor and I even discussed moving to Canada because of the low crime rate....
What are you, psychic?!?! =)
Jeff, you seem to be dialed into everyone's psychie recently, as I was watching it for maybe a fourth time last night of the TMN channels on Cable at like 2 a.m.

TexasAggie04, when in life DO you get the whole story? From the media? I don't think so. From the government? I don't think so.
All we ever get in life is ONE person's side of things... only the side they want us to get.
Jeff you should watch Canadian Bacon....It was written by Micheal Moore and stars John Candy...pretty funny flick...

JEFF:
Yup I saw that movie a few months back after I was told to check it out from a few friends. Weird on so many things. I watch all of Micheal Moores with an open mind, not so much in total belief but with an educated guess what is more real than not. Like Tim said what is the truth from media and government. But still pretty scary with out southern neighbors.
Get a rifle when opening a bank account, wow.........I only got a pen and the daily crappy interest they kindly give you.....lol. And how many Canadians actually leave there doors open all the time, geez I remember those days back in the 70s, these days come on!
Over all the movie was a good eye opener, check out Fahrenheit 911 that will blow you away.
Cya...

Absolutely INCREDIBLE mind-blowing movie. The way I see it is this: at least Mr. Moore presents the side that the right wing media absolutely refuses to show you. For sure, he's a propagandist, but at least he dares to show ow STUPID politicans and absolute A$$HOLES like Charlton Heston are.

No kidding Ken. Even if you fall in the middle, its a far far different picture than what the US government is painting.

I like how sophisticated Marilyn Manson seems to become comparatively to the other interviewees...

he always tries to seem well mannered and sophisticated. he just ends up sounding boring and monotone. all his interviews are like that. i think it's cuz he has no soul, lol.

Say what you want about Marilyn Manson But he used to date Jenna Jameson, if he could keep her entertained he cant be that boring :D
Actually Marilyn Manson when interviewed comes across as more inteligent then most politicians. He does what he does for shock value, wich in turn makes him a lot of money. The man is very smart and obviously a good business man. Until everyone started making a fuss over how bad he is he was no one, his concerts didnt' sell out, then all the various groups started saying how bad he is blah, blah, blah and all the young rebel crowd goes " Hey I gotta check that out " Briliant man.

I love watching interviews with him for that reason alone. He is easily one of the most intelligent people in fame and/or notoriety today, and a lot of people don't realize that he is absolutely making fun of the media, the common definitions of beauty, and even his own fame all at the same time. If you saw him on Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, you'd see that Mr. Brian Warner (Manson) has quite the sense of humor as well. I even saw one special on MuchMusic where Manson was in a debate with an angry mother, a catholic priest, and the Much interviewer. Even though Manson was double teamed, he kept his cool, and was easily 100x more sophisticated than his "opponents". I have a great deal of respect for him, despite what anyone says about him.

IF you like what Mr. Moore did on Farenheight, check out the Rock Against Bush Albums produced by Phat Wreck Chords. Granted not everyone is a fan of modern Punk Rock, but each album (there are 2 volumes) comes with a DVD that includes a short documentary that is very intelligently presented, and contains mostly interviews with Former CIA,DOD and Republican figures that quit or were fired since the republican's took power. Each volume sells for $9.99 CAD at music world. Also, the latest album by NOFX "War on Erroism" is fantastic and contains lyrics that will get the activist going in even the most complacent. Couple of props given to Canada as well!
Another great album in the spirit of left wing protest, "Land of the Free?" by Pennywise (2003)
thought some of you might be interested.
thanks,

Michael Moore is imo an extremely gifted man...he is one of the only people making documentaries these days that can get a whole nation talking...I've heard both sides of the issues he has dealt with (including Roger & Me) and you can see that every movie he stays the course as far as showing right from wrong...whether it's crooked politicians (aren't they all??) or GM execs....you can tell that he doesn't try to show anything but the facts...and generally he shows the person or groups (NRA) looking foolish and for no reason other than their own actions.
