Well I must say this show was one of the best ive been to yet. I was helping out at a table and we sold a bunch of stuff so that was good. I had a great time.
I picked up 2 cresties...the baby was free for helping out northern gecko this morning :D And the other was done through a trade.
This is the bigger one..looks to be male.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v281/BartmanReptiles/DSC00005.jpg
And heres the little baby.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v281/BartmanReptiles/DSC00003.jpg
And I FINIALLY got me a female for my male. I was so happy. She is extremely shy but she'll turn around I guess. Shes about a year old.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v281/BartmanReptiles/DSC00002.jpg
I also got some feeders, a submersable heater, and some other little things like usual :)
So what did you guys get?!

heh, awsome. I bought a 6 month old, columbian BCI, redtail boa. Such a sweetheart, named him Floyd...Pink floyd. I dont have pics uploaded yet.

I just ended up getting two ESU thermostats that were desperately needed and a few packages of feeders.

I got 1.1 Macklots pythons (very snappy but I like them), a beautiful albino bullsnake and best of all a mud snake (eastern, I think).
Muds are very aquatic; in fact, in the housing duscusion of the Peterson's field guide a complety aquatic enclosure is suggested. Tennant (2003) claims that they are very aquatic but also spend a fair amount of time in burrows, and on land during rainy nights. I am going to try an aquatic setup with ample room and a hide out of the water. Ofcourse I'll have to watch for blisters and infections. I bought him from PCPC who say he has been eating mice, which is rare as most people can't get them to eat anything but their natural aquatic salamander prey. He is an adult now and if I can keep in him good shape I'll likely be looking for a girl next year. I'm very excited!
I'll have pics soon.

I didn't pick up anything today besides some feeder bunny's and a few pet rats.
Sold a few snakes today as well. This is the first show where I came home with more money then I left with.
However, earlier this week we got a bunch of new snakes.. another white lip, an adult female coastal, and a 5' albino burm to name some.
I didnt get anything today....
Was sort of disappointed to see so few ETB's and GTP's...
Also was hoping to see some Alligator snappers there... nada... just TONS and TONS of beardies, leo's and balls... :(
Oh.. there was a TOTAL kickin male Jungle carpet there.. not for sale... but WOW what a looker...
Bartman
09-12-04, 06:14 PM
I thought there was more variety then usual..maybe it was just me :)
Ah I think I was just disappointed I didnt see any adult Fem ETB's... I was planning on picking one up to add to my 1.1 pair.
And I have a true soft spot for Ally snappers :)
I just couldnt get over how many beardies, leo's and balls were there....
I finally picked up a female leo for my male! And I thought I would not get anything today cos I woke up late..

Yah, tonnes of leos and beardies... and a few balls. That's had to be the nicest jcp ever. PCPC had a calaber (sp) python which was kind of neat. MJ's mojaves look nice in photos but in person their absolutely amazing! Their were also some indigos which I though were pretty nice.

The people next to me either sold a pair of etb's or gtp's right near the beginning for a grand. Big adults too
I picked up a male JCP offspring from the "looker male" everyone was talking about...(if its the one that was by the stage that was always out around that guys neck) and a gorgeous100% het albino male ball from Stav T...but yeah not much there other than beardies, leos, and cresties, and balls...was hoping for a bigger selection, but ahh well, maybe next time!

I didn't pick up anything. Just went to look around. But now I really want to try and convince my mom to let me get a snake. I saw some beautiful BRB's at Large Exotics table, and one (or two) or them would probably be my first snake(s)!
Thanks for another great show, and I can't wait until the next one!
Kimo, keep us posted on that JCP :)
I still cant get over that male :)

Just Leopards and Beardies???
I am a little disappointed to see that so many people are saying there were only leopards and beardies. On our table alone we had seven different species, and Neil was in from Nova Scotia with an amazing assortment of captive bred Uroplatus gems. With our table consisting of mainly Leopard geckos few if anyone actually took the time to stop and take a look at the display! The few people that did point out the knob tail gecko and Namibian sand gecko were quite happy to see that these species are represented here in Canada and are being bred. I must say that the number of species we took the time to look at today was amazing! There were several species of chameleons, carpet pythons, green tree pythons, emerald tree boas, amazing collections of ball pythons that were once only found in the US, and uromastyx. If all I got time to stop and see was Neil’s table with the captive bred U. fimbratius I would have considered the day well spent! But on top of that we got to meet and chat with many old friends and make some new ones. I would like to thank everyone that stopped by to say hello and we can’t wait until November!

That was Jessy's critters :P
And at last check, you said she was evil..... the pretty boa I mean..... but your girlfriend is going to start frisking you for snakes when you come home!!!
I was at the show to get a bunch of stuff, but didn't find what I needed (supplies mostly)..... oh well, next show!
The friend I brought was THRILLED with her leo from Penny, it was nice to see the excitment from people at their first show......
Oh, and tonya, I really do exsist..... I swear I'm not just in Justin's head..... he he he

I picked up my baby false waters, which Dave hatched out, big thanks to Dave, the babies are awesome :)

Actually in that PM I said YOU were evil for posting a pic of her the night before the show :)
She's such a little beauty though. She went swimming as soon as I put her in her new home, then stretched out in a paper towel tube :)
I'd been looking forward to getting one of Neil's leaf geckos since the spring, but it will have to wait until I have the proper vivarium setups. When the time comes to order some I'll post so that others in the SW Ontario area can get in on it. I have no problem spending a day driving from town to town dropping off critters fresh off the plane :)
Ooooh, there were FWCs there? I would have liked to have seen them. Post some pics, cantil :)

Wow, CamHanna, so you're the one who's got the Macklotts!!! Pretty nice snakes!!! I have to say i was pretty interested too! In fact, i reserved one of the two baby ETBs that were at the show, hehe! I put a deposit on it, to JD-Terrariums, so he holds it back and give it a few more feeds ( it had only eaten once ). My boss bought a little male Tangerine Milksnake from Sebastien and a few terrariums. I was actually pretty glad to see what was at the show... particularely appreaciated the woma, the piebalds balls, Stav's Super Salmon boa and the little ETBs, hehe!

I got 1.1 Ghost Motley Corns from ma good buddy Simon! But I think the two hilights for me were Markus Jayne's and the HQ table :) gotta love those Mojave and Orange stripes even if they are outta my price range!
Wasn't able to pick up anything but a great book on the herps of western sahara! But I saw those CUTIE-PIE tri-colour hognoses, and a GORGEOUS hogg island boa, which I REALLY wanted. Unfortunately, I've run out of space for now, so I can't have any new little ones till I've re-done some caging...
Oh well, it was still a great time, and I saw lots of fantastic critters and nice people! :)
I have to say, I do agree that there were tons of beardies. They are very cool lizards, but it just seems like there are more available (in general, not just at the show) than there is demand for them. Just my thought.

But yea, I wanted one of those ringed pythons... The colour on them!
It was actually a really good show, lots of stuff to see. And I'm still jealous of Melly winning that painting. :(

I got an awesome amel corn from Simon, a sweet little hognose girl from Darren and a pair of gals from John, I think it was, sorry if I got the name wrong.
They are all great!! wish I had more money I would have came home with one more amel. lol. But I didn't come home broke this time and that is what counts. Also got some rats from mice 4 U and some pinkies from someone, not sure who that was since it was last minute when everyone was packing up. Much appriciated though as I only had large fuzzies at the moment and they are much too big for my little girl from Simon. Plus the guy through in a few extra, also appriciated. If you know who you are let me know. lol. Thanks again too!! :)
I also picked up a probe set, feeding tongues (EDIT: Tongs not tongues. lol) and hook from Grant's table!!
It was a great show, wish I could have sold a bit more but then I'm sure we all did. lol. I'm just about out of room now, only got one 10 gal. and a 120 gal that isn't occupied till we build the new cages... lol.
Now, what is this I hear about tri-color hognoses?!!!
I saw one adult breeder at the show when we were packing up. Unfortunately I dodn't get around to all the tables and I missed some of the great displays, but I'd really like to hear more about those guys! Anyone have pictures? Were there babies for sale at the show? Who had them, they must have been awesome! I only got a glimps of the adult but it was awesome!
Hope to see more people at the next show.

Hey there,
It was a great show ! Thanks to Grant once again for organizing it. It was also great to put some faces to some nicknames and get to chat with them in person. Thanks to all and i hope to see you all the next time i'm there. Thanks to Matt.K who reserved a b.c.i from me a cpl of months back and picked it up at the show, with out me asking for a deposit. He is a very trustable person not all people do that when they arent asked for a deposit before. Thanks Matt!;)
I would like to give some special thanks to Mark Mandik ( MarkusJane ) who helped me out by finding some plasitc cups to put some water to the baby ringed pythons. With all the heat from the lights in front of the display boxes the ringed started to dehydrate at one point in the second half of the show. I really appreciated it. You are a great man!
I also would like to specialy thank ..... The blonde girl that had a table near the entrance on the right who also helped me out by finding me a spray bottle to mist the baby ringed pythons 's substrate. It was very kind from you and i really appreciated it. I realized that i didint asked her name:o so please if you read this name yourself.
Also.... Thanks to all that were at the party saturday ( went to bed at 4:45 am and woke up at 5:15 am to get ready for the show ) I had a great time!;)
..... did someone took pics from the hall with all the vendors? there was alot of people there...
Stav
Stav, please, don't thank me, I should be thanking you!! You went above and beyond in this transaction!! Not only did you not ask for a deposit, but you held on to her for me for a couple months!! Not to mention how amazing she looks!! I am VERY pleased with her and will be posting pics in about an hour :D Thanks again!!
