temp questionssss help

Hey i just bought a ball python and jungle carpet python
they are soooooo awsome
anyway i have them in the same room in different enclosures ...
there temps are at 82 -83 farenheight
is this ok for both of them????????

No its not ok. Don't you think you should have thought of the caging and temperature requirements BEFORE you bought them? I don't understand buying an animal, and THEN figuring out what it needs after. What happens in the meantime while you "figure it out"?

80F cool end, 90F warm end is a START. And only a start.

Post pics of the enclosures if possible.

they are in a temporary home for a couple weeks.......most websites say the temps for a ball are at 85 and the jungle are 75-85
if its not true then please help out
they are babies and i have them in a 2ft x 1 foot rubbermaids...

sorry i just re-measured it
the hottest end gets to about 98 then right to the cool side it gets about 76-77
does that sound good?

Good choice on the Rubbermaids, you're on the right track there, and it will make things a lot easier for you.

98F is WAY too hot though. A few hours at that temp will KILL both of those snakes. For sure. You need 90F warm side, 80F cool side. That's it. No room for error. Those are the temps that you HAVE to get the cage too. And that's why its better to calibrate all this stuff well before getting the snakes. Because in the meantime, the snakes are basically trying to survive through your little experiment. Its not really fair to the little guys.

90F warm, 80F cool. For sure.

thanks man....i managed to get it at 92 on the hot end and 75 on the cool end.....i dont think i can make it any more perfect...let me know what you think.....if it is really necessary to drop those 2 degrees let me know....
gimme a week for the pics :P....
i really want to move them into aquariums....is this really not a good idea?....

Aquariums are good for what they are intended for. Fish. Hence the "aqua" in aquariums! ;)

not true i have my 7 month old diamond python in a 2ft fish tank with 2 layers of paper on sides and back. and it stays at 30 degrees celsicus thats 86f. and carpet pythons do well at 86f to 90f

lol Diamondpython I'm guessing dimond dont cost over there what they do over here or you would probably have a better setup.
Oh and don't waste your time arguing your point with Jeff you 'll just want to burry your head in the sand when its all over:D. I have yet to see him out argued. Mind you its always entertaining.
