View Full Version : please help!!!
right hi all just wondering if any of you can help me, while at work last night i found a lizard a quick search on the net and i think it might be a gecko. its light green/light brown with an orange belly and a toad like skin rather than scales. are these found natural or will it need to be kept to survive? its currntly in a fish tank with grass (dont worry i took the water out!) what course of action should i take? and what does it eat / how often? (hope i havent said anything really stupid!)

First of all, Welcome!
Would you happen to have any pictures? That would help the more experienced (compared to me) members out. All that I would be able to say is that - I know they eat crickets and meal worms, but wait until someone else answers before taking any action. I would suggest to go onto chat if you really need a fast answer (not saying that it's slow here, but it doesn't seem that anyone has responded to this yet...).
Good luck!
Are you planning on keeping this little gecko (it does sound like one from your description, but I could be wrong)...
If yes, then do some quick research, and provide a suitable habitat... branches to climb on, bugs to eat (many wild caught reptiles will readily accept crickets, mealworms, moths, roaches, etc.).
Since you found it I would assume the reptile is wild and native... so yes, it will probably survie as long as can be expected in the wild. If you suspect that it is not a native species you may have to do even further research on it to determine it's needs. Posting photos would help us determine the species, and requirements for your new friend...

The only way to properly identify it would be with pics......is it green all the time, does it change color, does it sometimes form a stipe down its back, does stick to the glass, is the whole belly orange or just it dewlap(flap that can extend in the throat area),how big is it i n cm's, where do you live, did you find it outside , do you mabye lol work at a walmart(stow-aways like that are common at walmart)........all of these questions have to be answered if you do not have a pic......Lucas
sorry for being a bit of a noob! i'll get a photo as soon as i can, i left it at work and i work in a prison, im also from england in the u.k.. i'd say the lizard is about 5cm long, doesn't seem to change colour and the orange is a strip that runs from neck to tail, i've caught some house flies and will feed it these if it will take them. it doesnt stick to well to glass (well plastic!) either.
