No less than 3 months ago, one of my cresties mysteriously escaped his enclosure, and was nowhere to be found. It was mysterious because I had left the lid to his enclosure on good and tight, yet the lid was half off when I checked on him, and no one claimed to have opened it. It was a very upsetting experience to have lost one of my geckos somewhere in the house, and not be able to find him. I had given up after a while, and figured that he probably got in between the walls and died (I have a very old home that has lots of cracks and holes and hiding places). Just yesterday, I opened up the door to the room that he escaped in, and there he was -- sitting in the middle of the room, eyes bright and shiny, head up, and surprisingly - not skinny! I was in complete shock. He was a little jumpy, but I am so surprised, but happy to have found him again. I wonder what he lived off of though.... I did have a number of crickets escape in the house a month ago, but what about before then? I guess that's another mysetery.

Congrats! It's always a relief to find a pet that was lost!

Congrats on finding him.

He probably ate some crickets or little buggies that you normally don't see in the house.

sounds to me he more then likely found you. Do you think it is possible that he was getting hungry and knows that you are his keeper and where his cage is? And knows that being there he will get food? Or maybe you just got lucky being in the right place at the right time. lol
