put the male and female together. Pictus are very easy to breed and the females lay eggs quite often whether they are bred to a male or not. I would try in the spring but make sure your girl is big, fat, well-fed and has lots of calcium stored up. Pictus females are known to not live as long as other geckos because of the amount of eggs they lay.

They will breed very easily. Put the male and female/s together and voila, you have eggs!!:D Feed them as often as they will eat, dust with calcium at every feeding or supply a shallow dish of calcium at all times. Be sure to provide lots of fresh water to prevent dehydration in gravid females. I have had the same female for 5 years now and she lays all the time. I've never heard of them laying themselves to death, but they should live 7-10 years. Good luck!

I agree I have had some of my pictus for years now. As for breeding whel they are easy to breed the problem is getting them to stop lol

I love these geckos

I didn't say they don't live for a good amount of time. Just that they don't live as long as others. Like chameleon males normally out live the females because they lay so much. Same as pictus females. Most terrestrial geckos can live up to 20 years, but pictus females normally don't reach ten. I think they're great geckos though and I think they are better than a leopard gecko as a pet because the commitment is not as long as with a leopard and I think they are easier to care for.
